Run through the heart of Honolulu

The course begins on Ala Moana Boulevard before passing through downtown Honolulu, Waikiki, Diamond Head, Kahala and Hawaii Kai, then returning to finish at Kapiolani Park.

Tower

Miles 2–3

Run through Downtown Honolulu, past Aloha Tower, Iolani Palace and King Kamehameha’s statue.

Waikiki

Mile 5

Pass hotels, shops and the famous stretch of Waikiki Beach before heading toward Diamond Head.

Diamond Head

Miles 6–9

Take on short uphill sections with sweeping views of Oahu’s east coastline.

Kahala & Hawaii Kai

Miles 10–19

Follow the coastal route through Kahala, Waialae Iki, Aina Haina and Hawaii Kai.

Kalanianaole Highway

Miles 20–24

Double back along the highway before circling toward Diamond Head for the final stretch.

Finish in Kapiolani Park

Miles 25–26.2

Pass Waikiki Aquarium and Sans Souci Beach before finishing near the Kapiolani Park Bandstand.

BEFORE RACE DAY

Race packet pick-up

All runners must collect their race packet in person at the Honolulu Marathon Expo. Packets cannot be collected on race day.

Getting to the start

The start line closes at 5:30 AM, and all participants must cross the line by that time.
